The history of education in Pulpally is linked to the Lower Primary (LP) school established in the Chekadi area in 1922. The activities of Christian missionaries paved the way for educational progress. In 1938, Kuppathode Madhavan Nair started a Kudippallikoodam (traditional local school) with 12 students. The region's first high school was sanctioned in 1964; it was named Vijaya High School.
Migration to Pulpally from various parts of Kerala began in the 1950s. By 1967, the migration process was largely complete. Despite limited transportation facilities, the collective efforts of farmers led to the construction of numerous roads, laying the foundation for the region's development.
Art forms such as Vattamkali and Kolkali, along with various rituals and customs, are part of Pulpally's unique cultural heritage. Festivals like 'Uchal' and 'Putthari Utsavam' also hold special cultural significance.
